| | TL and Peri arrive at the airport, having taken one of his folk's cars for the drive over. They're waiting at the gate whe Khim's plane touches down, and TL glances to Peri; "You excited, baby?" | comments: 14 comments or Leave a comment |
| TL walks around after talking to the Headmistress and quietly gathers the folks together that had gone to the OSB to get Elle out. "Meet me in th'lounge at Fairgrove in half an hour if you wanna know what's goin' on."
Once he's told everyone, he goes to the lounge and waits. | comments: 23 comments or Leave a comment |
| Tommy Lee sits at his desk, and pulls out quill and parchment, along with some red sealing wax a small candle, and some matches. Sighing a bit he murmers; "I kinda dread this, but I reckon s'the best way..."
The parchment he's using is light grey and quite heavy, the best he could find when Duke Graceland granted him the Barony. He starts writing in deep blue ink in a flowing, looping formal hand;
To Lady Illyrie ni Eiluned, Baroness Rowantree;
Milady;
In recent days, there have been a number of matters of considerable import for which I would seek your Counsel. For that reason, I humbly seek private Audience with you at a time of your convienience following the Thanksgiving Break;
Respectfully
(Signed) Baron Thomas Lee Johnathon Jackson
He reads the letter over once, twice, then nods, and folding it carefully, uses the candle to melt enough sealing wax to make a proper seal, which he then embossess with ring. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Tommy Lee waves as Kali, Khimaris, Hob, and Dmitri drive off, chuckling to himself. "That's gonna be one helluva weekend." He pulls out his cell phone and dials his folk's house; "Reckon I better tell 'em before I get skinned for holdin' out on 'em."
The phone rings twice and then is answered, appearently by his mother;
"Hey Momma; I'm just waitin' fer Peri t'get ready, so I thought I'd call an' see how y'all were doin', make sure you're really okay with me not comin' home for Thanksgivin'."
"No ma'am. I'm not in any trouble! Yes'm, I know that's hard t'beleive. I reckon y'all kin thank Peri for that. Um speakin of Peri..."
"What? No ma'am, she didn't run off on me. An s'far as I know she ain't mad. I just.. well. Ya remember that homecomin' was weekend a'fore last? Yeah.. we had fun. I uh.. I asked Peri to marry me after th'dance, an she said yes."
He grins, and holds the phone out a bit from his ear, the reason is obvious - anybody nearby could hear his mother shouting on the other end. "Mamma... I.. " Pause.. "Mamma? I cain't answer ya'all if'n ya don't slow down enough to breathe..."
"Okay.. t'answer ya.. Yes, I'm sure she said Yes. She's wearin' the ring, after all. No no.. we ain't gonna rush. I wanna wait till she graduates, just t'give us time to get her folks used to the idea. No, we ain't set a specific date, or decided on where. She may wanna have it in Philly - that's her home after all, but we kin always throw a big shindig in Nashville or Memphis right after."
"No ma'am.. I haven't told His Grace, Momma. Do ya think I'd tell anyone else a'fore you? Yeah, you kin tell him, though have a camera goin', I wanna see the look on his face. Now.. how's Daddy doin?"
"Still in town huh? You wanna tell him? Alright Momma, that's fine with me. Yeah.. I know y'all never thought I would.. now I just gotta get through college, an'see what His Grace gives us." A chuckle; "You kin get me on the cell phone all weekend.. .we'll be at Peri's folks till Sunday morning. The address? Um.. hold on.." He digs out his palm pilot, and reads it off to her; "Now why do'yall want that Momma?" He laughs.. "Oh be that way.. Yes'm.. I love you too. Give my love to Daddy, and I'll call tomorrow after Dinner. Alright Momma. Miss you too. Bye." | comments: 29 comments or Leave a comment |
| | It's after midnight, and when the dance breaks up and most everyone else heads off to Travis's party, Tommy Lee gets Peri in the truck, and heads off-campus. They drive about twenty minutes, and turn down a long gravel road. He's been quiet, whistling along to the radio as they drive along. "I think ya'all'll like this place, sugar." | comments: 202 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Tommy Lee walks over to Peri's room and raps on the door. "Hope no one's asked her already.. I've kinda been Mister Oblivious.. and hell.. she'll have't'get a dress.." | comments: 19 comments or Leave a comment |
| | For my earlier comment, I apologize. There are some things I need to deal with, but I shouldn't have spewed all over LJ. | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |
| Tommy Lee finally gets into Rascal and heads up the road for Pennsylvania from Hagerstown, Maryland.
"Ohhh man.. the headmistress is gonna /kill/ me fer this. Damn damn why'n tarnation did I let those two talk me into stayin' for another four days?"
"Hell boy, you know why you did. Twin sisters? Satyrs? Some of the best 'shine you've ever tasted this far north? Who'da thought they'd have a line on the good Kentucky stuff?"
He glances over his shoulder at the wooden crate stuffed among the rest of his belongings in the back of his pickup. "Dozen mason jars. That'll last a little while.."
He flips through the radio, and then gives up, cranking up the MP3 player when Bocephus comes on, singing along with the song; "So don't ask me Hank why do you drink?(Hank) why do you roll smoke? Why must you live out the songs that you wrote? Stop and think it over, Try and put yourself in my unique position If I get stoned and sing all night long It's just a family tradition!"
"Guess I better start rehearsin' my explanations.." | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
